Our campaign is celebrating the major endorsement of the San Francisco Tenants Union, which voted Julian their number one choice for District 5 Supervisor.
Founded in 1970, the progressive tenant advocacy organization in San Francisco provides political advocacy on behalf of San Franciscans who live in the more than 170,000 rent-controlled housing units.
There are more than 40,000 tenant voters in District 5 alone.
The highly sought-after endorsement builds on the groundswell of progressive support joining our campaign, including the recent backing of SEIU 1021, former District Attorney Terence Hallinan and State Assemblyman Tom Ammiano.
Davis, whose editorial interview with the Guardian went online Monday, said the Tenants Union support is critical to cement his front-runner status among progressives.
“The Tenants Union is a first-responder for so many tenants in San Francisco with nowhere else to turn,” said Davis. “They’ve been there for me in the past, and I look forward to continuing our work together in City Hall.
